Karen Corr Professional Pool Player
Nicknamed as the Irish Invader, Karen Corr is the famous professional pool player. She is currently ranked as the #2, woman pool player in the world by the Women's Professional Billiard Association (WPBA). She was born on 10Th November 1969, in Ballymoney, North Island.Karen Corr moved to England with her parents at the age of eight. She joined a club there and started her career in snooker, when she was fourteen. She won her first Ladies Championship in England, when she was only fifteen years old. She went on to win the additional world titles in the years 1991, 1995 and 1997. Although she was a world champion, she had to do odd jobs to support herself financially. She did various jobs like bartending so that she could play professionally.
One of the hottest players of 2007 and InsidePOOL’s Player of the Year, Shane Van Boening lost his second-round match to Scott “The Freezer” Frost 3-2 and then was eliminated from the bank pool event by former world champion Alex Pagulayan. Karen Corr, ranked number two on the WPBA’s tour; Jose Parica; Jason “The Dark Horse” Kirkwood; and former world all-around champion Jason Miller remain undefeated through three rounds.
